Senior Citizens Making It in Network Marketing

“Well, what do you know?”  It was more of an exclamation than a question when Mabel heard from her long lost friend, Karen, after an absence of some twenty years.  “Were you calling to see if I am still alive?” Mabel asked.

Karen explained that she had recently joined a network marketing company with an outstanding nutritional supplement product which she attributed to giving her more energy and stamina than she had felt in years.  She thought of Mabel when she was making her list of family and friends.

Mabel was a senior citizen as even her name is considered to be old fashioned.  Although some similar names have found renewed popularity in recent years, no one seemed to have named their baby daughters Mabel for a good long time.  As an older person enjoying her retirement years, Mabel had no interest in joining a network marketing company at her age.  She was living a comfortable existence although having more money to travel and buy gifts for her grandchildren was not entirely undesirable.

“I’d just like to send you a bottle so that you can try it for yourself,” Karen said.  “If you like it, we can talk about getting you involved with the business.”

“No way am I interested so don’t send me anything,” Mabel told her old friend.  After some friendly conversation, Mabel was convinced that she would never hear from Karen again.  After all, they had not talked in twenty years.  There seemed to be no reason to start up the friendship again at this point.

Karen gave her a call

back, and Mabel signed up as a distributor in the network marketing company.  She was determined that it was only to be able to buy the product wholesale for her own use.  Before she knew it, however, she was telling her friends about the good results she was having.  People were signing up under her and becoming her downline.  She became excited about the prospect of earning money.

Mabel did not expect to work hard at the business, nor did she plan to make a lot of money.  However, her venture into network marketing was giving her some purpose and excitement in her life as it began to bring in a little extra income.  Success for one person may not be the same as it is for another, but senior citizens can be successful in their own way in a network marketing business.
